The G26 Abuja Gafcon conference concluded with the Abuja Affirmation presented to the gathering by Archbishop Laurent Mbanda.
The Affirmation declared, "Gafcon was originally formed as a fellowship within the Anglican Communion. Now that the Anglican Communion is being reordered, the Gafcon Primates Council has been replaced by the Global Anglican Council."
The Council was elected and will be lead by Archbishop Laurent Mbanda as Chair, Archbishop Miguel Uchôa (Brazil), Deputy Chair, and Bishop Paul Donison (U.S.) as General Secretary.
Bishop Alan provided a brief video report as he was about to head into the session where the Abuja Announcement took place.

G26 Abuja consisted of 347 Anglican bishops and 121 lay and clerical Anglican leaders from 27 provinces.
