Bringing the Light of Christ to Ukraine
The Thigpen family has been working in Eastern Europe for 25 years. For about 12 of those years they lived full time in Russia, engaging in a wide range of ministries including church partnerships and planting, orphanage ministry, ESL ministry, sports ministry, and outreach to those affected by addiction.
Since February 2022, they have focused their efforts mainly on Ukraine. Their work includes activities such as providing support for churches that are housing refugees, assisting relief work and evacuation for people near the contact line, helping rebuild houses for families who have had their homes destroyed, and providing wood burning heating units for houses without power during the winter. They are constantly seeking new ways to help those in need. In all of this, they endeavor to shine the light of the gospel of Christ with those who do not know him. During this Christmas and Epiphany season they will deliver supplies to and have Christmas programs with some of the people most affected by the war.
