Camp Booyah is an Anglican summer missions adventure camp for rising 6th graders to graduated highschool seniors. The values of practicing Anglicanism, cultivating a heart for missions and service, and enjoying fun and adventure anchor Camp Booyah’s structure. The camp offers youth an opportunity to practice their faith through worship in music and common prayer every morning and evening.
Throughout the week, the youth listen to a series of homilies, serve those in need in the local community through a variety of mission projects, and participate in surprises, competitions, and activities that create a sense of adventure and foster life-long friendships.
In 2014, Rev. Drew Hill had a vision to create an experience where middle and high schoolers from Anglican churches come together for worship, community, and mission. In the summer of 2015, Camp Booyah held its first week at Cedar Grove Retreat in Kannapolis, North Carolina, with 78 campers and leaders from 7 Anglican churches. Over the years, Camp Booyah has grown to hundreds of campers and leaders from more than 20 different churches. In 2018, Camp Booyah moved to Watermarks Camp in Scottsville, Virginia.
In 2019, Anglican Youth Ministry 501(c)(3) was formed to expand the vision of Camp Booyah. In the coming years, our vision is to offer multiple summer camp weeks, winter retreats, leadership training events for upperclassmen, and youth ministry training events for staff and volunteers. All of these events will be for the purpose of coming alongside Anglican churches to help disciple the next generation of leaders and resilient followers of Christ.
