Jeff Ungetheim

I have been a licensed mental health counselor for 35 years, 24 of which have been spent caring for adults and children in a pediatric oncology department and have maintained a private counseling practice for 30 years. I am currently working on a Certificate in Spiritual Direction through Sustainable Faith, which I should complete in May of 2025. Along with the counseling practice, I have been offering spiritual direction for 6 years. I reside in Greensboro, NC with my wife, Deedee, of 33 years and have two adult children.

Having been on the receiving end of spiritual direction for many years, I have benefited from being able to deeply explore my spiritual life with God, to identify the things that derail or distract me from paying attention to what the Holy Spirit is doing in my life, and to talk through transitions in life and how God is leading me through them. I have also been able to talk through dry places in prayer and in my life with God and navigate difficult life events. Being able to offer this gift to others brings me great joy and deep purpose.
