Understanding the Complexities of Being Human Theologically
It is not an overstatement to say that thinking through gender is no longer optional for churches. Yet, doing so is by no means straightforward: sometimes, we are tempted to forget those distinctives that make us Christian when we turn to questions about gender, offering no unique theological contribution; and other times, we are under the impression that any talk of gender is a surrender to worldly norms. Can Christians provide the world with a life-giving and compelling vision for our lives as women and men that draws from the deep resources of the Christian tradition and offers a word of hope in Christ Jesus, while still taking seriously the questions raised by these complex experiences?
Join Dr. Fellipe do Vale, Assistant Professor of Biblical and Systematic Theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, for an exploration of such questions and to see how a Christian theology of love offers a rich framework for understanding gender.
