Making Disciples to the Ends of the Earth
The Global Mission initiative supports and challenges the churches of the Diocese of Christ Our Hope to look to the frontiers and to obey Christ in the fullness of his charge to make disciples to the ends of the earth.
The church is witness to Christ near and far, even to the ends of the earth, making disciples of all nations. The church must continually be made aware of and exhorted to engage in the frontiers where there are no churches. Though there are hurting and lost among us, there are also those who can live their entire lives without ever meeting a Christian, those who have no way of hearing the gospel in their language, and those who will not hear unless someone from another culture goes and bears witness. Cross-Cultural-Workers (CCW) must be sent into the spiritual darkness of the frontiers where they will also face challenges of geography, poverty, cultural barriers, government restrictions, social hostility, and language differences. Even the disciples who were first told to make disciples of all nations were dispersed through persecution—they did not go entirely of their own will.
